  1. I'm pretty sure jarred pasta sauce does exist. Our Italian roommate in Bonn always had some in the cupboard. What's up with that? I thought Italians were supposed to make the pasta sauce!

  2. Are the light switches on the inside or outside of the room? At my parents' house in Italy they were all in the hall (for the bedrooms and the bathrooms). Maybe it's so you didn't have to step foot inside a dark room, but apparently these people are not very prank-minded.

PS, I will send you Oreos any time.

  3. Sara: HOORAY! We'll have to track some down because right now Paul has only found, like, powder mixes? And that sounds unacceptable. ;-)

Dani: I...don't know. I HOPE they're on the inside. Though I get the feeling that, since most apartments don't actually have built in lighting, you end up just flipping on lamps and things directly on the cord. I just remember being at our hotels in May and noticing the lightswitches were flat and as wide as my hand and thinking, "Well, that's new and actually a pretty great improvement."

Easier to clear. Easier to find. Easier to smack with your hand when you're mad? I don't know. But just, easier.

  4. I'm like the Pied Piper. He was totally German too, right?
